Big 10 Expansion

A lot of talk out there in regards to the Big Ten expanding to 15 or 16 teams. A school being mentioned a lot in those talk is the University of Missouri. Now with Sport Observer Monthly being a Big 12 and KU homer it's time to put some thoughts out there on this subject.

First this whole deal our course is about money. Read that if Mizzou went to the Big 10 they would get 22 million a year in TV money, which now they only get 9 million. Now in these tough economic times it seems like a smart choice. Yet making a choice based on money alone doesn't do justice to a rivalry that dates back to the Civil War.

Kansas V Missouri just typing that makes one think back to all the great football, basketball, and all other college sports that KU and Mizzou do battle in every year. They have been bitter rivals since the days of Lincoln and many decades of fans have had to choose Kansas or Missouri. If the higher up at Mizzou decide to jump ship to the Big 10 then we might as well just push all those thoughts out of our mind about Norm Stewart v Roy Williams or Gary Pinkel v Mark Mangino. It would be a shame if they left because Kansas v Missouri is one of the best rivarlies in all of sports. Everyone circles Kansas v Missouri on the schedule no matter what the sport is and I don't see Missouri fans circling Indiana on the schedule and that my friends everyone can agree with not matter what side of the border you root for.
